Why Does The Tip Of My Tounge Hurt?

Women, always women ...

In 1974, a group of neighborhood women Caserones, they sought, the mayor then, the construction of a school in the district. They wanted their sons and daughters enjoy the same rights as any other resident of the city of Telde.

wanted to not have to walk down the road in bad weather to reach the College Colegio San Juan or Plácido Fleitas. They demanded decent facilities and that the smaller the neighborhood, they did not have breakfast hours before time to attend their classes. Asked, in short, not second class citizens.

All women, then mothers, grandmothers now.

After a hard work of Francisca Romero, a resident of the neighborhood, we could identify those women who sought to dignify the education their children received. Some have already died, and others, can hardly leave their homes. Still, the community of CEIP Los Caserones want to pay tribute to those women for their struggle, their signatures, by illusion to believe that things could change, they got a better place to study and live.

Thirty-six years later, we teach our students, a gesture, however simple it may be, may be important for the future. This is believed them.
funny thing is that none of these women were able to enjoy the present school, the works did not arrive on time.

Today Caserones women also fight for a better school, a claim that has taken eight years to manifest, claim and demand a decent center for their children. History repeats itself. There is only one difference: these women are not willing to wait and not want a tribute in another thirty-six years.

just want a firm, company, a few bulldozers and several months of noise, or whatever it is, they want the political will is realized once and for all.

We can not invite the whole town to celebrate the simple ceremony on Friday 12 in the center, but invite you to leave comments, which we read to these women who have made a better Telde town, because thanks to them, houses is a better neighborhood.
